My View On “Jason Riley: The Evidence Is In—School Vouchers Work”

09 March 2012

The artwhen will i get my tax refundcle does also point out that the graduation rate for people who applied for vouchers, but didn’t get them in the lottery is 70%. That seems to address most of the concerns raised – you have a population (people who applied for vouchers) that is then divided into an experimental group and a control group, and those who received vouchers in that population did much better than those who did not.

Rather than try to rationalize away the results, it seems the next step would be to expand the program – give vouchers to all students in a failing school, and see what difference it makes in those students performance. If successful, then give vouchers to everyone who wants them.

Also, if we see that these kids can get a good education through the voucher program, go back and slap every teacher, administrator, and union official who failed them in the past, and demand a refund of all moneys paid.

Thoughts On “Three Ways to Give Housing Market a Lift”

08 March 2012

All these convoluted schemes to ‘restore’ the housing market make Rube Goldberg seem the essence of simplicity. As long as millions of homeowners are underwater (and they will be for many years to come) the only real solution to the problem is to reduce the principal. The only solution that makes sense is the traditional solution – let the eligible debtors get relief from the bankruptcy advice court. The banking industry is responsible for the indefensible exemption to the code that forbids any bankruptcy court haircut on residential homeowner debt. That special exemption does not apply to corporate owners or second home owners. This is a simple and elegant solution since having the bankruptcy option available will make banks much more accommodating to stressed mortgage holders. No doubt the banks will fight this tooth and nail and we will be stuck with complicated, bureaucratic government programs and schemes that will cost billions. The worst situation would be for the Fed’s plan to inflate away the debt. Once that dragon comes out of its cave we will really be in dire straits.

An Opinion On “Sluggish Hiring Seen as a Threat to Recovery”

07 March 2012

Another one is terminating the President’s assault on the right of employers to disentangle themselves from non-performing employees via the President’s expansion of Family Medical Leave. Family Medical Leave is now increasingly used as an offensive weapon by poorly performing individuals – if you know you can’t do the work, it’s getting around that all you have to do is exercise your Family Medical Leave rights and this quadruples the effort the employer needs to go to in order to terminate your employment law advice.

Family Medical Leave is like giving a form of tenure to every single American, which just makes American employees that much less attractive to multi-national employers and medium-sized businesses alike. The consequence is the middle class can command less in cash wages because they are now even less attractive to employers, and THIS means that Family Medical Leave (along with all the other unfunded mandates placed on employers by Democrats) simply crowd out middle class wages and increase the gulf between the top 1% of Americans and the middle class.

I’ll leave to others the President’s employment-crushing mandates on American utilities who must pass along their massive cost increases caused by EPA regulatory overkill to American employers, which also crowds out wages for employees for those employees lucky enough to keep their jobs notwithstanding the enormous spikes in electricity costs for employers that every employer anticipates in the next few years.

My Analysis On “Trouble on the China Express”

06 March 2012

Please forgive me if I am assuming your reference to the left wing Chinese posters as someone like me. I just want to give a little clarification.

I am not in the forum to defend the Chinese government per se. Let me make it clear that if the Chinese people want the government to go, they should go. They work for the Chinese people and not the reverse. However, I cannot accept even a single drop of foreign agenda in China’s internal affair and I can see clearly (anyone has to be blind to not notice) that US and the west have been infusing mis-information and provocations to the Chinese people with the plain motive to change into a government that would take care of the dollar and US economy instead of the 1.4 billion Chinese. A government that they would not perceive as a threat to their domination on the world.

Thoughts On “Review & Outlook: Error: USAJobs.gov”

06 March 2012

Supposed to save $5 million, like ObamaCare was/is supposed to reduce the deficit??? Come on, Jeremy.

You’re right, the WSJ, like every other sane human being, knows that government spending is to high relative to GDP and government is almost always significantly less efficient than the private sector. Not to mention, this article highlights an example where the government took over something it already outsourced, which makes its failure especially egregious. (But I’m sure Obama was more focused on making sure it didn’t look like he supported the notion that the private sector is better at doing business than government. What a great leader we have.)

Your statement that WSJ (and by extension, Conservatives) always go for low cost above all else shows your totally lack of business acumen and understanding of the Conservative school of thought. The lowest cost solution is only desired when it provides equal or better quality than other available options. Finally, Conservatives support limited but active and efficient government, not simply making it as small business advice as possible just for the sake of making it small.

Shopping Baskets Can Be Logo Imprinted For Better Marketing

06 March 2012

Hand held logo imprinted shopping baskets absolutely are a convenience solution that prospects appreciate. A challenge develops if customers love the baskets a great deal of that people walk away from the store along. In order to eliminate shrinkage and then to reinforce a store’s make, retailers typically have its logo branded on vinyl shopping the basketball.Hot stamping is actually a process whereby an customized die is definitely heated and after that forced down about the baskets which includes a colored marking foil sandwiched amongst. The area where die fits the vinyl is where ink with the foil is definitely burned on the basket.

My View On “Texas’ Perry Condemns Court Ruling Blocking Portions of Sonogram Law”

05 March 2012

You will hear about this subject until the the Fundamentalists have their way. It’s how their minds work: one track, Jesus’ way or NO way, etc. Reminds one of Afghanistan and the Saudis. It won’t get any better and it cannot be any better because these stances are born out of permanent and unshakable delusions. It’s like expecting the Arabs not to orient themselves towards Mecca when praying. Good luck with both. At best one will be able to marginalize such people, but only when the nation is composed of a majority of sentient and lucid citizens. We are nowhere near there yet.

A Commentary On “Henninger: What Would Clint Eastwood Do?”

05 March 2012

Chin up. System needs some work and we all have our frustrations about it…but no, the sky is not falling. Things might get worse before they get better, but woes of an apocalypse are not based in reality here. This is a defeatist view that will only lead to the failure you speak of. It’s not a mole hill, appreciate its a mountain…but the end? Not even close. People have been trying to warn of that since the dawn of our time on this planet; just read the bible to first date advice how far back our ignorant paranoia goes. Cooler, saner heads prevail, this you can count on.
